Genius

Dave is a genius.

On Saturday evening I didn't feel like cooking, and it had been a while since we'd had a Jet's deep-dish BBQ Chicken Pizza, so we ordered out. Yum. But, while pizza is a convenient way to get your recommended daily load of saturated fat, it's not exactly nutrient dense. I was tired enough that I was ready to call the evening a failure and start with veggies again the next day.

But not Dave.

No, he had an idea. The next event of the evening was a family movie, which just happened to be Veggietales. So, he suggested that while we watch Veggietales...why don't we eat veggies??? It seemed a little strange at first, almost cannibalistic, but if they can sell Bob and Larry fruit snacks, why can't we eat cucumber sticks?

So, I chopped up some carrot and cucumber "fries," put them in fancy little dishes, and set them on the table directly between Rolland and the screen. He practically had to look through them to see the movie.

And--wouldn't cha know?--he ate them! We all did. By the time the movie was over, the veggies were gone. And this is after a delicious pizza supper. I repeat:

Dave is a genius.
